Beyond Pricing
Senior Software Engineer 2, 2020 — Present
I joined Beyond in 2020 where since then I've been working on a variety of projects across multiple teams.
- In 2020, I joined as a Software Engineer 2 and worked on building an integration with a partner. Besides that I mostly worked on the billing project, enhancing our custom billing system and adapting to new needs as we're about to enter the pandemic era.
- In 2021, I continued focusing on billing, integrating new partners and payment methods including our own payment processor. I also worked on migration one of our data warehouse pipelines from a custom made system to dagster. The biggest project I worked on during this period was building a product that would enable syncing translations between our translation tool (Transifex) and our Support CMS (Kustomer) directly impacting multiple teams. During this year I also got promoted to Senior Software Engineer.
- In 2022, I took complete ownership of the billing project, taking also the extra role of tech lead for our internal system team where besides being an individual contributor I also tried to help the each team member to grow and improve. During this time, I also owned several other initiatives and was promoted to Senior Software Engineer 2.
- In 2023, I transitioned to the platform team following the company's need to have better alignment between the teams and improved DX. I've built tooling around our internal systems to improve the developer experience and also worked on setting up several components needed not only by our engineering team but also internal stakeholders, like Trino and Vault. During this time I also lead a big initiative to decouple our monolith into separate services.
- In 2024, I transitioned to the data team where I'm currently working on building a new data platform that will enable the company to have a better understanding of the data and improve the decision making process. Besides building data pipelines and tooling, I'm also working on improving the data quality and governance by adding tests and monitoring. During this time, I was also able to dip my toes in a bit of ML.
Since I joined Beyond in 2020, I was able to work on multiple projects and teams, which gave me a broad understanding of the company and its needs. I was able to directly impact not only our customers by bulding new features and improving existing ones, but also our internal teams like (finance, support, operations, customer success, and engineering) by building internal tooling, improving the dx and data quality. I tried to embody our core values and position myself as a person that can help bridge the gap between the business and engineering.
